RBAF commander pays courtesy call on Singapore’s chief of defence force

ROYAL Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Abdullah called on Chief of Defence of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Major General Perry Lim in the city-state yesterday.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Defence said the RBAF commander is currently in Singapore for the second leg of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Maritime Security and Counter Terrorism (ADMM-Plus MS & CT) Exercise, which will end on May 12.

During the call, the RBAF commander thanked the Chief of Defence of the SAF for the warm welcome extended and also expressed his gratitude to the SAF for co-hosting the ADMM-Plus MS & CT Exercise with the RBAF.

“This truly signifies the close and longstanding defence relationship as well as the professional cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore,” the statement said.

Also present during the call were Co-Exercise Director Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Hamzah Hj Sahat, who is also the RBAF Joint Force Commander, and the Co-Chair of the Experts’ Working Group (EWG) on Maritime Security Captain Hj Othman Hj Suhaili@ Suhaily, who is also the Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN).
