BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
FAMILY Day celebrations continued across the country yesterday as several organisations held events for their members and families to mark the occasion.
Her Royal Highness Princess Hjh Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah yesterday attended a Family Day celebration organised by the Attorney General’s Chambers at the Berakas Forest Reserve Recreational Park.
Themed ‘Oh Kanak-Kanak: Remembering our childhood days in a Bruneian way’, the event was also attended by Attorney General Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Hjh Hayati Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Hj Mohd Salleh and Solicitor General Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Juanda Hj Abdul Rashid.
Meanwhile, more than 200 members of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and their families marked the occasion with a 2.2km walkathon held at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium of the Police Headquarters in Gadong.
Present as the guest of honour was Police Commissioner Dato Paduka Seri Hj Bahrin Mohd Noor.
Brunei Darussalam first began observing National Family Day in 2012, which is held every first Sunday in May.
This year’s Family Day celebration retained last year’s theme of ‘Visionary Family’ and the motto ‘My Family, My Hope’.
