A MAN escaped unhurt from a self-accident at Kg Bukit Panggal yesterday after his white Sino truck overturned along the Muara-Tutong Highway.

The 27-year-old foreign national was driving the truck, believed to be carrying sand, when it appeared to have hit the roadside railing and overturned onto its side around 11am.

A police investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.

Several hours following the accident, the truck remained in place causing heavy traffic congestion during rush hour.

In a brief statement issued shortly after 6pm, the Royal Brunei Police Force said they were still waiting for a crane and trailer to move the truck.

The police added the affected roadside railings were damaged, but no further details of the crash were provided pending the investigation.
