Men accused of stealing from construction site claim trial

TWO men accused of stealing from the Sg Kebun Bridge construction site are claiming trial over the charges.

During the proceedings at the Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Arman Hj Aban, 35, pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of stealing several pieces of equipment from the construction site between March and April this year.

The court document filed by Deputy Public Prosecutor Dk Hazirah Pg Yusof stated that among the items allegedly stolen by Arman were a speed cutter machine, a water jet compressor, a welding machine, a steel ladder, a large hammer, a fire extinguisher, a chain block, two rolls of Tensar geogrid and six pieces of plywood belonging to BNG (B) Sdn Bhd.

Co-accused Alidin Ahmad, 33, is claiming trial to the joint charge of stealing a water jet compressor.

A further mention of the case to set the trial date will be held on May 10. Both Arman and Alidin were released yesterday on court bail of $3,000 or the same amount in one local surety.
