THE Land Department under the Ministry of Development has introduced a system to improve and enhance the quality of services it provides to the public.

The Land Application and Registration Information System (LARIS), which is accessible through www.laris.gov.bn, www.land.gov.bn or the e-Darussalam portal, will enable land owners to submit and obtain approval online for several applications. These applications are for the transfer of land ownership, renewal of expired land leases, change of land title special conditions, land charge to financial institutions and private land leasing (lease more than seven years). All required documents are to be scanned and uploaded online.

From May 1, applications for the five land application via lawyers’ services are required to be submitted online to LARIS. Members of the public who require facilities and assistance regarding LARIS can approach the Land Department in all four districts as well as the Business Help Desk at the Design and Technology Building in Anggerek Desa.
