South Korean navy ship to dock in Brunei

A SOUTH Korean navy ship that will be in Brunei from May 1 to 5 and will be open for the public to visit on May 3 and 4.

The Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin-class destroyer, ROKS Choi Young, will be arriving shortly to participate in the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus exercise which is a multilateral military exercise on maritime security and counter-terrorism co-hosted by Brunei and Singapore.

The ROKS Choi Young is a 150 metre-long, 5,000 tonne vessel which was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries and was commissioned on September 4, 2008.

Officers and crew of ROKS Choi Young will be welcoming the public to visit onboard the ship between 2pm and 4pm on both dates at Muara Port, where the ship will be docked during its visit to the country.
