AFTER completing various training programmes, a total of 368 TelBru employees received their certificates at the company’s second graduation ceremony held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas yesterday.

This year’s number of employees who completed the training programmes mainly conducted at TelBru Learning Centre showed an increase of 41.5 per cent from 260 employees who graduated from TelBru in 2014.

In his welcoming remarks David Kay, chief executive officer (CEO) of TelBru, said that the company has a strong commitment to develop the skills of its employees.

The company provides opportunities from study visit to work placements for college students to enable them to better connect their learning to the workplace.

TelBru, Kay added, also provides first jobs for new graduates through its Young Talent Development Programme, offering skills upgrading for early to mid-career staff to deepen their core skills and conduct leadership development programmes for senior managers and high potential individuals to groom them for top positions within the company and provide them with holistic development and global exposure to become future industry leaders.

He also said TelBru will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Youth Development Centre for short period technical training for the Fibre-to-the-Home installation project. “I strongly believe the education and industry partnership such as this will add value and improve students’ learning and experience, benefiting both parties over the long term,” the CEO said.

“Customers’ expectations continue to rise and we need to keep abreast with the demands and be up to the challenge,” he said.

As a performance driven company, TelBru will continue to nurture every employee and allow everyone to perform to his or her fullest potential. This means continuous training and re-training and everyone should be prepared for that, he said.
