National Quran Musabaqah Final full rehearsal held

TWELVE qari and qariah will compete in the finals of the National Al-Quran reading Musabaqah for Adults beginning today (April 19) until April 21 at the Plenary Hall, International Convention Centre, said the Ministry of Religious Affairs in a press statement yesterday.

The finalists (five males and five females) and the two defending champions (winners of last year’s competition) Al-Quran recitation skills will be put to the test at the competition. To ensure the smooth running of the events, a full rehearsal was held yesterday. Present to oversee the rehearsal yesterday was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awg Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. This year’s Musabaqah carries the theme, ‘Al-Quran Penawar Dan Ubat Bagi Rohani Dan Jasmani’ or ‘Al-Quran as a Cure and Remedy for the Spiritual and Physical’.

The public who wish to attend the Musabaqah can get their entry cards at the security guard reception, Ground Floor, Ministry of Religious Affairs Extension Building at Jalan Dewan Majlis. Entry cards and seats are limited.

Hajah Siti Noor Dzuhairah Haji Awang Damit, the Defending Qariah said they attended courses aimed at improving their vocals, fluency and phonetics or pronunciation and overall performance. The winners will be announced on the final day of the competition on April 21.
