SENIOR education officers from Melaka are seeking closer ties with Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) following a visit yesterday.

The 38-member delegation made up of representatives from higher education institutions in Melaka visited KUPU SB’s campus and discussed ways to enhance relations.

Leading the Melaka delegation was Datuk Wira Hj Md Yunos Husin, the head of Executive Committee of Education, Higher Education, Science and Technology, Green Technology and Innovation.

In his remarks, he expressed the delegation’s interest in KUPU SB and how cooperation between the two parties could be established.

“I feel very proud and impressed with KUPU SB for staying true to its roots despite the changing times. I believe that during our time here, we will be able to exchange thoughts and ideas which will hopefully materialise into something more such as academic cooperation,” said Datuk Wira.

During the visit, Acting Deputy Registrar (Academic) Ustaz Adi Rani Soffian Abdul Rahman delivered a presentation on the university, followed by talks between the two parties.

According to a statement issued by KUPU SB, the visit was also aimed to identify ways of promoting research cooperation in the development of Islamic education.
