A 24-YEAR-OLD local motorcyclist lost his life yesterday morning, after succumbing to injuries sustained in a crash against the barrier of a steel post along Jalan Tengah Anduki.

The Seria police station received word of the accident at 3.06am. The victim was rushed to the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in Kuala Belait.

At 7.48am, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said that early investigations reveal that the road, near Anduki’s Jubilee park, was wet at the time of the accident.

Damage to the motorbike was extensive; its front was crushed while the tyres and handles were broken. Further investigations are under way. RBPF also advised motorists to pay attention and stick to regulations whenever using the road.
