THE Haj Affairs Department will be collecting blood and urine samples starting tomorrow at a number of designated hospitals in the country.

In a press statement issued yesterday, the department said that candidates who are to be selected for this year’s Haj are to head to the hospitals in Tutong, Belait and Temburong to submit the necessary samples.

Candidates can either go to Hospital Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah in Tutong, Hospital Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam in Temburong or Hospital Suri Seri Begawan in Belait.

The Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital in the capital will also be collecting blood and urine samples on Monday.

The time set for candidates is from 8am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 4pm in all of the hospitals.

The Haj Affairs Department advises candidates to bring with them their Identity Card and Bru-HIMS card, and to register themselves first at the outpatient reception before beginning the sample collection procedures.

According to a previous report, the Haj quota for this year will remain at 400, as to ensure the safety of the pilgrims and their comfort while performing the Haj.
