THE Ministry of Communications’ Postal Services Department has announced the permanent closure of its post office in Kiulap effective March 31, 2016, it said in a statement last night.

Members of the public who are active using services at the Kiulap post office can visit other branches such as Seri Complex Post Office, Mata-Mata Post Office and Bandar Seri Begawan Post Office.

The announcement came about a week after Minister of Communications Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Hj Mustappa Hj Sirat had said it was necessary to close ineffective post offices to stay relevant in the midst of technological advances.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 12th Legislative Council session, the minister had said the changes would not affect the needs of the public and its customers.

Any enquiries on the closure can be directed to Assistant Postmaster General Hjh Siti Fadillah Hj Mohin at 2381212 during office hours or email dillah.mohim@post.gov.bn.
