BRUNEI is expected to experience slightly hazy conditions for the rest of this week due to forest fires in some areas of the country.

“Slightly hazy conditions are possible because our country has been experiencing forest fires, such as in Belait District,” Mohammad Affindi Hj Salbi, a meteorological department duty forecaster, said yesterday.

However, if the forest fires persist next week, then slightly hazy conditions can still be expected, he said.

He said the average temperature over the next three days is forecast to be 32 to 33 degrees Celsius and could rise to 34 degrees during the daytime while it is expected to decrease to around 26 to 27 degrees at night.

Showers or thunder showers are also expected until the end of the month which usually take place late at night.

As of yesterday afternoon, the temperature was recorded at 31 degrees with slightly hazy conditions.
