Pedestrian seriously hurt in road mishap

A 36-YEAR-OLD pedestrian was seriously injured in a road accident that occurred yesterday morning.

Hj Mohd Noor, a spokesperson of the Royal Brunei Police Force, told The Brunei Times that the victim, a male permanent resident, and a Isuzu CXZ truck driven by a 30-year-old foreigner were involved in the accident.

The cause of the accident which happened at the Tungku Highway near to the Grand City Hotel at Batu Bersurat was still under investigation.

Royal Brunei Police Force spokesperson said that an early assessment report by the doctor shows that the victim has sustained head injury.

As of press time, the victim was still semi-conscious and currently undergoing treatment and X-ray test at Emergency Unit at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
