A BRUNEIAN man feared missing after he went fishing near the Sg Tujoh border last weekend safely returned home in Kuala Belait late last night, police said.

Brunei and Malaysian police conducted a search operation for the 44-year-old Bruneian reported missing on Saturday after he went fishing near the Sg Tujoh border.

As of 9pm yesterday, the Royal Brunei Police Force said they had not found the man from Kuala Belait, while the Malaysian police in Miri said they had located the 44-year-old's empty boat at Kg Masjid, near Lutong around 4pm.

Sergeant Kimun Aiyoh from Lu-tong's police station said that as the boat was docked, the possibility that the Bruneian was on land should not be ruled out.

“As of 9pm,” he said, “we are continuing the search. The Marine Police are also involved in locating his whereabouts.”
