THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday reminded the public to be vigilant and to take appropriate security measures during this school holiday period from March 18 to April 3.

In a statement, the RPBF reminded the public to be extra cautious before leaving home by ensuring that fences, doors and windows are shut and securely locked while making sure their home’s exterior is brightly lit at night.

Homeowners who wish to go abroad are also urged to notify the authorities such as police and grassroots leaders as well as nearby family members and neighbours so that vacant homes can be monitored to prevent any break-ins.

Members of the public who notice anything suspicious are urged to immediately inform the police or relevant authorities. The RBPF can be contacted at its emergency hotline 993 or at the nearest police station. The Brunei Times
