INTERESTED Bruneian businesses are invited to submit their novel ICT products and services to the ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA) 2016.

In a press release issued yesterday, the Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) said businesses can start making submissions from today until June 10.

Participants are required to submit a video presentation of their products and services, which will be judged online by ICT experts from all ASEAN member states.

Organised by Brunei through the Ministry of Communications (MinComm) and AITI, AICTA recognises outstanding products and services across six categories: Public Sector, Private Sector, Corporate Social Responsibility, Digital Content, Startup, and Research and Development.

Three participants from each of the six categories will be shortlisted and will be required to present their final products and services at a final judging session in Myanmar in August.

Held annually since 2012, AICTA was introduced to encourage innovation and creativity in the region and provide a platform to promote ASEAN ICT products and services globally.

“It is hoped that the local ICT industry will rise to the challenge and use AICTA as a platform to create networking and business ties, and be recognised as one of the key technopreneurs in the ASEAN region,” AITI said.

Brunei will host the AICTA 2016 awards ceremony in November.
