THE Ministry of Education (MoE) has established a task force to ensure that the Malay Muslim Monarchy (MIB) subject is taught effectively and comprehensively across all levels of education in the sultanate.

This was said by the Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman in response to a query by the Penghulu of Mukim Gadong ‘A’ YB Hj Tahamit Hj Nudin at the Legislative Council (LegCo) meeting yesterday.

YB Hj Tahamit asked why the MIB subject was not brought into the O-level and A-level examination.

In response, the minister said that MoE has no plans on bringing the subject into the two national level examinations given that its emphasis is on the appreciation of the national ideology and its daily life practices.

The examination on the subjects will remain in the hands of schools’ management, and a task force had already been established to ensure its effectiveness and observe its implementation.
