RBPF confirms snatch theft attempt at Serusop

THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) has confirmed a report of a snatch theft that took place on Thursday night in Serusop.

In a statement issued by the RBPF yesterday, the Berakas Police Station received a call at 7.56pm regarding the theft involving a 22-year-old ‘foreign male’ who had attempted to flee after snatching the purse of a foreign woman.

A member of the public heard the cries of the victim and successfully gave chase with the help of other members of the public.

The perpetrator was then handed over to the police and has been arrested for the crime.

Further investigations will be conducted under Section 379 of the Criminal Penal Code, Chapter 22.

The RBPF expressed its heartfelt gratitude to members of the public for providing assistance to the victim in the time of need until the perpetrator was caught.
