Woman in car collision with pick-up truck injured

A YOUNG woman was injured following a two-vehicle accident in Kg Lambak along the Muara-Tutong Highway yesterday.

According to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), an emergency call was received at 8.03am after the victim’s five-door wagon collided with a pick-up truck near a U-turn.

The 22-year-old woman was rushed to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital for treatment.

However, as of press time, doctors have yet to ascertain the extent of her injuries.

Meanwhile the pick-up truck driver was unharmed.

RBPF said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

A total of 316 accidents including five road fatalities were recorded in February this year, an increase of 73 compared to cases reported on the same month of the previous year.

Of the accidents last month, 119 involved multiple vehicles, 99 were self accidents and 61 were rear-ended vehicle collisions.
