SINGAPORE has launched a new fellowship programme for top data scientists, technologists and engineers in a bid to meet its goals under the Smart Nation initiative.

Launched by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), the programme aims to deve-lop solutions to enable the government to make better decisions using data and co-create digital services.

The plan will attract top tech talents from academia and industry both in Singapore and overseas to join the government for short stints from three to six months, according to an IDA press release out on Monday. The IDA said the government intends to appoint the inaugural batch of four to eight fellows this year.
