Mother of abandoned baby identified: police

THE mother of an abandoned baby girl found at the Lambak Kanan Housing area has been identified by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Women and Children Abuse Investigation Unit yesterday.

The RBPF statement said the mother was brought to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital for examinations.

No further details were provided with regards to if any action would be taken against the mother.

The baby was found early yesterday morning at a residence at the Lambak Kanan Housing area with the umbilical cord still attached and without any clothes on.

She was immediately brought to the RIPAS Hospital for examination, the statement read.

The statement added that the baby is healthy and currently under supervision at the hospital.
