Religious Affairs minister attends haj meeting in Jeddah

THE Minister of Religious Affairs Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Awg Othman yesterday attended the annual Haj Management Meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the minister of religious affairs met with the Saudi Arabian Haj Minister Dr Bandar Mohammed Hamzah As’ad Al-Hajjar and other senior officials where the two parties agreed to continue their cooperation for the arrangement of the welfare, facilities and comfort for the Bruneian haj pilgrims in the upcoming haj season.

The minister of religious affairs also expressed gratitude to his Saudi Arabian counterpart for the good cooperation and support given by the Saudi Haj Ministry during the previous haj season.

The ministerial-level meeting is organised by the Haj ministry of the Saudi Arabian government every year to discuss travel arrangements for Bruneians who will be making the pilgrimage in the upcoming haj season.

Also part of the delegation at the meeting were the Bruneian envoy to Saudi Arabia Hj Muhd Fakhri Hj Mohd Taib, Consul-General to Saudi Arabia Hj Sulaini Hj Mohd Said, Acting Director of Haj Affairs Hj Abdullah Hj Mohamad and Royal Brunei Airlines’ representative Hj Abd Nasir Hj Bolhassan.
