RBPF golf tournament raises $2K for orphans

IN MARKING its 95th anniversary, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) held a fund-raiser golf competition at the RBA Golf Club yesterday.
The competition which raised $2000 for the RBPF Orphans Fund saw around 50 participants from RBPF, law enforcement agencies and golf clubs in the sultanate.
Among the groups that participated were members of Internal Security Department (ISD) and Brunei Research Department, golf clubs of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Pantai Mentiri, Royal Brunei Airline (RBA), District officers and retirees of Royal Brunei Police Force (PPDB).
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, RBPF spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hj Mohd Noor Hj Abd Rahman said that the golf competition was among the various activities that RBPF has organised in marking its 95th anniversary.
Activities such as blood donation, football tournament, and paintball tournament were conducted previously to commemorate the RBPF’s remarkable achievements, he said.
“Soon we will also be having Bukit Patoi Challenge organised by Temburong Police District while by end of April to early May, we will have an exhibition showcasing all RBPF departments and invited enforcement agencies at The Mall in Gadong,” added DSP Hj Mohd Noor.
RBAF golf club was crowned winner for the golf competition, followed by RBA and PPDB golf clubs as first and second runner up, respectively.
Meanwhile, the overall gross winner was awarded to Captain Hj Mohd Wadiwadera Hj Md Wahid from the RBAF.
Guest of honor, Commisioner of Police Dato Paduka Seri Bahrin Md Noor presented prizes to winners and participants of the competition.
His spouse Datin Hjh Rosminah Hj Abdul Hamid, in her capacity as the chairperson of Welfare Body of Police Wives and Families (PEKERTI) received the donation on behalf of PEKERTI.
