Brunei scouts sign MoU with Malaysian counterparts

The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan Federal Territory branches of the Scouts Association of Malaysia.

All the parties are keen to work together by combining available resources, expertise and skills in areas of common interest, especially in aspects of scouting, PPNBD said in a press statement.

The MoU is intended to foster cooperation in programmes involving the exchange of students and leaders of the four scout associations and training and human capital development programmes, information sharing and exposure in the field of scouting, it said.

The signing took place at the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association headquarters building on Jalan Gadong and was attended by PPNBD President Dato Paduka Hj Idris Hj Abas.

Scouts Chief Commissioner Hj Awang Badar Hj Awang Ali signed on behalf of PPNBD. Meanwhile, Datuk Dr Zaini Hj Suntim, the Deputy National Chief Commissioner in his capacity as the Sabah Scouts Chief Commissioner, Sarawak Deputy Scouts Chief Commissioner Hj Mohamed Said Hj Bolhassan and Labuan Federal Territory Scouts Chief Commissioner Hong Heng Chee signed for their respective associations.
