Singapore’s outgoing chief of Air Force pays farewell calls

SINGAPORE’S outgoing chief of Air Force paid a farewell call on the Deputy Minister of Defence and the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Force on February 25-26 at the Ministry of Defence (MinDef).

According to a statement yesterday, Major General Hoo Cher Mou was in the sultanate throughout the two days for a farewell visit as he is set to retire on March 28.

During the visit to the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Hoo Cher Mou and First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Hj Mohd Tamit both expressed satisfaction on the excellent bilateral defence relations shared between the two countries, especially between the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and the Singapore Air Force.

The statement said both air forces have interacted regularly through professional exchanges, trainings, and courses, including the annual bilateral exercise “Exercise Air Guard” which Major General Hoo Cher Mou oversaw the commemoration of the exercise’s 20th anniversary in 2014.

The outgoing chief of Air Force also met with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Abdullah where the commander expressed his utmost appreciation for the outgoing chief of Air Force’s support and professionalism throughout his tenure.

During the visit, both the RBAF commander and the outgoing chief of Air Force affirmed the cordial bilateral defence relationship and personal friendship between the two countries.

Pehin Dato Major General Mohd Tawih also wished Major General Hoo Cher Mou well in his future endeavors.

Also present during the visit was the Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force Colonel (U) Shahril Anwar Hj Ma’Awiah.
