New deadline for Civil Service Excellence Awards

THE Management Services Department at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday announced that the entry deadline to participate in the Civil Service Excellence Awards (ACPA) 2016 has been extended to March 31.

In a statement issued yesterday, the department said participation forms and guidelines for ACPA 2016 can be obtained from the department at the Bahirah Building or its website at

All submissions must be in by 4.30pm on March 31, it said.

There are two categories awarded this year – projects that had been implemented and have shown achievements/outcomes and positive impact towards the public service, and a category under proposals in the form of ideas that could potentially be practised in the public service.

The project paper is only open to civil servants while the proposal paper is open to all Bruneians citizens.

According to an earlier report, the project/proposal papers should be focused on areas at improving the delivery of public services, innovations in public service, preventing and combating corruption in the public service and improving Integrity, transparency, accountability and responsiveness in the public service.

Areas such as advancing knowledge management in government, application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Government: e-Government and quality Improvement of the Public Service Processes towards Ease of Doing Business should also be part of the focus when submitting the project/proposal papers.
