RBAF to take part in joint exercise in India

Six personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) will be participating in the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) Humanitarian Mine Action and Peacekeeping Operations Joint Field Training Exercise in Pune, India next month.

The participants comprise an officer and five other rank personnel.

They will be involved in the exercise from March 2-8.

A flag handover ceremony was held yesterday at the Tower Block of the Ministry of Defence in Bolkiah Garrison to mark their participation in the exercise.

The Brunei flag was officially handed by the Chief of Staff, Joint Forces RBAF, Captain Mohd Yusuf Masron, RBN, to the exercise representative, Captain Abdul Rahim Pg Hj Yakup.

According to a media release from RBAF, the flag handover is to reflect the involvement of Brunei Darussalam in the exercise, where the flag will be displayed together with the flags of the other ADMM-Plus countries.

Also present during the ceremony were senior officers, officers and other rank personnel from the Joint Forces Headquarters and the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF).

The ADMM-Plus Humanitarian Mine Action and Peacekeeping Operations Joint Field Training Exercise is a platform to share experiences in landmine clearance activities and to strengthen practical cooperation amongst the ADMM-Plus working group.
