Narcotics Control Bureau of Brunei conducts meet with Singapore’s agency

THE eighth annual Bilateral Cooperation Meeting discussing methods of drug control was held between the Narcotics Control Bureau of Brunei and Central Narcotics Bureau of Singapore at the former’s headquarters at Jalan Tungku Gadong yesterday.

The meeting between the two agencies saw discussions on drug trends, best practices, updated procedures, and legislation in combating drug abuse as well as the illegal distribution of drugs.

 The agencies went on to discuss effective methods in providing educational programmes for drug prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.

 From the meeting, the drug agencies, by learning from each other, hoped to constantly improve the effectiveness of the programmes provided in their respective countries.

 The meeting was chaired by Acting Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Hj Mohd Jaffari Hj Mahadi and Ng Ser Song, Director of the Central Narcotics Bureau.

 The location of the annual meeting is held alternatively between the agencies in a bid to strengthen bilateral ties.
