THE Embassy of Kuwait celebrated its 55th National Day and 25th Liberation Day with a dinner reception last night at The Empire Hotel & Country Club.

Present as guest of honour was Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Suyoi Haji Osman.

Kuwait Ambassador to Brunei Dr Fahad M S Al-Thafiri cut the anniversary cake. He was accompanied by the minister as well as the ambassadors of Oman and Saudi Arabia and the charge d’affaires of Qatar.

Dr Fahad then presented the minister with a souvenir before delivering his welcome speech.

In his speech, Dr Fahad highlighted the growing relations between Kuwait and Brunei, saying that over the past few years, bilateral relations have had steady progress, boosted by the frequent exchange of official visits between the two countries.

Dr Fahad also highlighted the official visit of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to Kuwait last May, which “had provided an opportunity to inaugurate a new phase of concrete efforts to support cooperation in various fields.”
