THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) urged motorists to slow down and drive cautiously at school zones after a student was hit by a car yesterday morning.

The police in a statement said the 14-year-old girl sustained bruises following an accident involving a Nissan Navara that was driven by a local man.

The Bandar Seri Begawan Police Station received a call through its 993 hotline at 7.09am regarding the accident that took place near the Tasek Lama Recreational Park.

A picture of the scene that went viral on social media yesterday showed individuals crowding an area near the traffic lights on Jalan Tasek Lama.

No government property was damaged during the accident, according to the RBPF.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
