UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) will introduce a new Diploma in Syariah Criminal Justice System course for law enforcement officers and students in August this year.
The university’s Acting Academic Registrar Hayattuddin Hj Moksin said the new diploma programme by the Faculty of Shariah and Law will strengthen the implementation of the Syariah Penal Code Order 2013.
“We are introducing the diploma programme to help legal enforcers understand how the legal justice system works,” he said in a recent interview.
Hayattuddin said the varsity does not only offer Arabic language courses.
“We want to inform the public that UNISSA is also targeting those who want to upgrade their knowledge in finance, management, legal system and many more,” he continued.
The university also offers a bachelor’s degree in Syariah Criminal Justice System.
The acting academic registrar went on to say that introducing the diploma course was an answer to His Majesty’s call for an increase in human resources who are knowledgeable in Islam. According to UNISSA’s latest figures, the Faculty of Shariah and Law has produced more graduates than other faculties from 2007 to 2015.
A total of 537 Faculty of Shariah and Law students had graduated from 2007 to 2015.
