National Day messages from Turkey, Korea

LEADERS of Turkey and South Korea sent congratulatory messages yesterday to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on the occasion of the sultanate’s 32nd National Day.

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his message conveyed his sincere congratulations to His Majesty and the friendly and brotherly people of Brunei on behalf of Turkish Nation and on his own behalf.

Erdogan said that “the bilateral relations between Turkey and Brunei which have developed on the basis of brotherhood, friendship and cooperation, will further improve and deepen by mutual efforts for the common benefit of peoples of the two countries in the period ahead”.

He also conveyed his best wishes for His Majesty’s health and happiness as well as for the well-being and prosperity of Bruneians.

Meanwhile, similar message was also expressed by South Korean President, Park Geun-hye, where she expressed her warm congratulations to His Majesty and to the people of Brunei.

“I hope that the coming years will see the friendly and cooperative ties between our two countries as well as the bonds of friendship and happiness of our two peoples grow even further,” she said.

She also wished for His Majesty’s good health and the enduring prosperity of the nation.

Brunei will be celebrating its 32nd National Day on February 23 at the Taman Sir Muda Hj Omar Ali Saifuddien (SOAS) in the capital where more than 20,000 people are expected to join the celebration.
