Notice for 32nd National Day

National 0 minutes, 57 seconds

HEAVY vehicle operators are prohibited on roads leading to the Taman Hj Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on February 23 Tuesday next week.

This road closure was to ease the movement of shuttle bus services around the capital during the celebration of the 32nd national day, according to a press statement issued by the Motor Transport Licensing Authority (MTLA) under the Ministry of Communications.

The road closure will begin from 5am until the event ends, and company owners are advised to inform their heavy vehicle drivers to use alternate routes. The statement added that the Traffic Control and Investigation Department under the Royal Brunei Police Force will conduct a temporary road closure on February 20 for the national day’s rehearsal.

Meanwhile, a mass prayer to mark the country’s 32nd National Day will be held next week Monday, the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced yesterday.

Mass Maghrib and Isya’ prayers, a reading of the Surah Yaasin as well as a thanksgiving ceremony will be held at all mosques and prayer halls throughout the country, with the focal point being at Masjid Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital.
