Gov’t agencies mark HRH’s birthday

GOVERNMENT agencies and higher education institutions yesterday held thanksgiving prayers to mark the 42nd birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB) yesterday held their prayers at the UBD mosque.

Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman and Deputy Minister Pg Dato Paduka Hj Bahrom Pg Hj Bahar attended the prayers at UBD.

The ceremony began with mass Maghrib prayers, followed by the Sunat Hajat prayer and the recital of Surah Yasin and a special prayer before concluding with mass Isya prayers.

Meanwhile, Health Minister YB Dato Paduka Dr Hj Zulkarnain Hj Hanafi attended a similar event at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong.

In addition, Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces Brigadier General Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan Pg Hj Mahmud led the prayers organised by the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) at the Bolkiah Garrison.

Similar events were held in all garrisons and RBAF camps.

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) also held a thanksgiving ceremony at the surau of the policeheadquarters in Gadong where Police Commissioner Dato Paduka Seri Bahrin Md Noor was present.

Meanwhile, the Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College held the thanksgiving prayers, which was attended by Permanent Secretary of Core Education Dr Hjh Romaizah Hj Mohd Salleh.
