Academy of Korean Studies opens registrations for summer programme

THE Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is inviting Bruneian students to sign up for the 24th AKS Summer Programme for International Students.

The programme is slated to be held in Korea from July 11 to August 5, 2016, said a press statement from the Korean Embassy in Brunei yesterday.

The four-week programme will be conducted in both Korean and English.

The statement said the programme aims to heighten Republic of Korea (ROK)-Brunei relations, especially among young leaders of both countries.

The Academy of Korean Studies will cover the cost of registration, lectures, accommodation and meals.

Participants will have to pay for their round-trip airfare, local transportation and medical insurance.

Prospective applicants must however meet certain qualifications.

Applicants must be undergraduate students of second year or above.

They must also major or minor in Korean Studies or have taken Korean-related lectures.

Those who are in graduate school or hold Korean nationality are not eligible.

Applicants must submit the following documents: one completed application form that can be downloaded from the website, all official university transcripts and a Korean Proficiency Evaluation Sheet (application form number seven and four).
