A car found burning near the Tungku Link Flyover on February 6 likely caught fire due to overheating.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the cause of the fire was likely due to the overheating of a component from the diesel fuel ‘heating element’.

The department said it received a report at 2.13pm about a burning car at the Hassanal Bolkiah Highway towards Tungku Link.

When firefighters from the Berakas Fire Station and Women’s Operation Unit arrived at the scene, the vehicle was covered in flames, and it took them about three minutes to put out the fire.

The car was identified as a beige Grand Vitara with license plate number KK6635. The cost of the damage is still being determined.

Meanwhile, the Royal Brunei Police Force said a 30-year-old man that was involved in an accident at the Seria Bypass yesterday is still in the Intensive Care Unit at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital.
