THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) is investigating an alleged scam by a group of three women and a person of unspecified gender who are posing as Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) employees offering tenders.

The police launched the investigation after receiving a complaint on January 26 that the group of four had allegedly “cheated” people by enticing them to pay down deposits to secure supply tenders for BSP.

In a viral message circulated recently, a lady claiming to have fallen prey to the scam saying the accused group had offered fake tender documents, with its members playing different roles to convince the public of their authenticity.

The message also said that multiple people had been duped, with the author claiming that the group would tell those who paid down the deposit that their tendering was “in the process” whenever asked. The author of the message also called for its content to be shared so that more would be aware of the group's “devious” ways.
