Singapore appoints high commissioner to Brunei

SINGAPORE’S government has appointed Lim Hong Huai as its next High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam.
The city-state’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement on its website that Lim will assume the post on March 21.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994 and last served as Director-General (Southeast Asia I) in the ministry from July 2013 to January 2016.
The statement added that Lim had served as Consul-General in Johor Bahru from May 2010 to June 2013 and also previously in Jakarta and Washington.
Lim graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in 1994 and Masters of Laws from Harvard University in the US in 2005.
