Japan delegation visits Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism

THE Miyazaki Prefectural Assembly of Japan delegation continues their visit to the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism as part of their visit to Brunei.

The eight-member delegation is currently in the sultanate for a visit yesterday until January 16.

Vice-chairman of Miyazaki Prefectural Assembly, Futsuhara Masami led the visit which aimed at exploring potential areas of cooperation with Brunei and learning each other’s portfolio.

Throughout their visit, they will also be visiting several government agencies.

Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism’s acting permanent secretary, Wardi Hj Mohammad Ali and deputy permanent secretary, Hj Khairuddin Hj Abdul Hamid.

Japanese Ambassador to Brunei, Noriko Iki was also present.

Futsuhara in his speech prior to a closed door discussion during the visit, said since Brunei and Japan are parties to the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), the two countries can exchange valuable information on their respective industries.

Their visit to the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism also aimed at knowing more about the development and areas of growth ranging from tourism, agriculture, fisheries and forestry which are part of the country’s economic diversification efforts.
