THE date of the second Politeknik Brunei convocation ceremony for its third intake of students has been moved to January 28.

A statement on the change was released by the institute yesterday.

The convocation was originally scheduled to be held on January 21.

The 325 students from the third intake of the 2013 academic year will be receiving their Advanced Diploma certificates at Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s Chancellor Hall.

The statement said the Advanced Diploma certificates are being recognised by the Ministry of Education through the National Accreditation Council as equivalent to the Business and Technician Education Council Higher National Diploma.

In conjunction with the convocation ceremony, Politeknik Brunei is also hosting several events such as a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and Karnival Konvo Politeknik Brunei 2016.

The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was held yesterday at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kg Madang and attended by 181 students.

Karnival Konvo Politeknik Brunei 2016 will be held from January 15-19 at the parking area on Jalan Bendahara in the capital.

The first convocation was held at UBD on January 15, 2015, in which 582 graduates from the first and second intake received their Advanced Diploma.
