Deputy minister receives outgoing defence advisor

DEPUTY Minister of Defence First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Haji Mohd Tamit received a farewell call from Colonel Reduan Hj Omar, the outgoing Defence Advisor of Malaysia to Brunei, last Thursday.

During the call, both sides discussed the cordial bilateral relations between Brunei and Malaysia, and the defence cooperation between Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Malaysian Armed Forces.

The deputy defence minister lauded Colonel Reduan for completing his tenure successfully in Brunei, thanking the the Malaysian defence advisor for improving defence ties between the two countries.

The outgoing Malaysian defence advisor also paid a separate farewell call to Royal Brunei Armed Forces Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Abdullah at the Bolkiah Garrison on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) in a statement on its website said that both armed forces interact regularly through professional exchanges, training courses, military exercises and operations.

These interactions have richly enhanced interoperability between both armed forces, and have strengthened mutual understanding and personal friendship among personnel.

RBAF hopes to maintain the same level of support, cooperation and professional defence relationship with the incoming Malaysian defence adviser, the statement said.
