Pakistan’s Navy hosts reception aboard ship

Pakistan’s Navy hosted a reception yesterday for diplomats and officials as part of a goodwill visit to Brunei.

Held on the PNS Nasr, which is docked in Muara port, guests enjoyed an array of traditional Pakistani cuisine.

In his speech, Saqib Ilyas, co-captain of the PNS Nasr, said he valued the relationship between the two countries, which is bonded through strong religious ties.

He said their stay has been ‘cherishable’ and ‘memorable’ due to the hospitality that the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) has provided.

Saqib added that frequent participation from both sides in various events such as BRIDEX will promote peace and harmony in the region.

To mark the occasion, a cake-cutting ceremony was held which was joined by Deputy Minister of Defence First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Hj Mohd Tamit, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Abdullah and RBN Commander First Admiral Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi Pg Hj Muhammad.

Other guests included the High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Brigadier General (Rtd) Muhammad Zareef Malik, Mission Commander Commodore Bilal Abdul Nasir and PNS Shamsheer Captain Syed Rizwan Khalid.
