THE Parents Teacher Association of Meragang Sixth Form Centre (PTEM) organised a religious ceremony last night at the Suri Begawan Mosque in Kg Madang for the students taking their AS-Levels and A-Levels this year.

Around 500 congregants – comprising parents, teachers and students, among others – attended the ceremony.

The religious gathering was also seen as an opportunity to strengthen ties between parents, teachers and students.

The _Sunat Hajat _prayer asked for Allah SWT’s blessings for the students.

The ceremony began with mass Maghrib prayer followed by the Sunat Hajat prayer and a doa headed by Bilal Razman Ramlee.

The congregation also recited the Surah Yassin and tahlil, followed by mass Isyak prayer.

The event concluded with the handing of wakafs to the members of the Mosque Committee.

The gifts were presented by the school’s principal, Pg Hjh Maimunah Pg Hj Osman, and the chairman of the Parents Teacher Association, Hjh Hajidah Hj Abd Wahab.

The teaching staff of PTEM banded together to collect approximately BND$900 for the wakaf to show their appreciation to the members of mosque committee.

The gifts comprised one portable speaker, one water jet hose, one 10m extension cord and three rechargeable torch lights.

This is the fourth time the school’s PTA organised the event.

Last year, the prayers were held at the Mohammad Bolkiah Mosque in Kg Serusop.
