Five teams register for ‘Cyber Battle’

FIVE teams have registered for the first “Cyber Battle: Capture the Flag” competition to be held on October 11 at the Authority for Info-Communications Technology of Brunei Darussalam building in Anggerek Desa.

The one-day competition, organised by the IT Protective Security Services Sdn Bhd (ITPSS), is aimed at raising public awareness about how to defend IT networks and use it as an educational exercise in information security.

Personnel from ITPSS told The Brunei Times that they are still inviting more people to register for the competition until October 2.

“Members of public are welcome to participate in the competition. Every team comprises two or three local members. We are hoping more people with IT knowledge to get involved with the competition,” he said.

He said that the registration is free and is open to permanent residents aged 30 and below.

He explained the rules of the games in which participants have to analyse the system to check against exploiting vulnerability of the designated game servers.
