Youth leave for ASEAN-Indiaexchange programme

A TOTAL of 15 youths left for India yesterday to participate in the ASEAN-India student exchange programme.
Head of youth delegation Zulfadly Hj Ismail Mohammad said the Bruneian team will have the opportunity to discuss regional issues with other youth.
“We will have the exchange of ideas or concepts with youths from participating ASEAN member countries on matters related to social, culture and business,” he said prior to leaving at the Brunei International Airport.
He further said the trip will help enhance their communication skills when they share their experiences with other participants.
“Perhaps we can look at how each participating member countries mitigate and overcome the problems which we can adapt and apply (here),” he said, adding that the delegation will need to submit individual reports to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports after the trip.
The Bruneian participants comprised students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Institut Teknologi Brunei, Jefri Bolkiah Engineering College, and International Graduate Studies College.
In a press release from the Indian Mission to ASEAN, the visit aimed to build greater cultural and economic understanding between Southeast Asian and Indian youth aged from 20 to 28.
It added that the 10-day visit would enable youth to learn more about modern India as well as the chance to meet Indian government officials, youth entrepreneurs and visit companies and academic institutions.
