THE search for the local man reported missing around Sungai Pandaruan on August 29 continued on with the operation now expanded into three zones nearby the area.

Deputy Commander of Fire and Rescue Operations G Branch in Bangar, Assistant Superintendent of Fire and Rescue Harith Samad, told The Brunei Times yesterday that the search and rescue operations are now being carried out into three zones; Zones A, B and C.

He said Zone A would be the place where the 34-year-old local were reported missing, an area nearby the Sungai Pandaruan while Zone B would be North of the river, heading towards the sea and Zone C would be around the end of the river.

Agencies involved in the search and rescue operations include the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department and Civil Defence Department in Limbang, alongside the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Fire and Rescue Department in Temburong.

The search and rescue mission was launched on August 30 following a report lodged around 3.15pm at the Bangar Police Station by family members of the missing man, who was last seen wearing a blue shirt and green shorts.

Around the time, authorities were only focusing on two zones to find the missing man: Zone A from the ferry area to the bridge, and Zone B which includes areas beyond the bridge.

As of press time, no clues have been found yet on the whereabouts of the missing man and the authorities are still carrying out their search and rescue mission along the areas.
