THE Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) announced their new 2015/2016 Students Representative Council yesterday.

Twenty-seven new members of the council took their place in a ceremony held at Dewan Tarbiyyah at the college.

Dean of Students (Students Affairs Section) Ustaz Dr Hj Hambali Hj Jaili expressed his thanks to members of the old Students Representative Council and encouraged them to share their knowledge and experience with their new (counterparts).

“I hope that this appointment will not be a burden and inconvenience for you all. Take it as a challenge and a worthwhile experience in leading an association that you can take advantage of and benefit from when you graduate from KUPU SB,” he said.

Ustaz Dr Hj Hambali shared several incentives that would be implemented this year for the new council members.

“Starting this year, some incentives would be given to this year‘s Students Representative Council and our future students councils. One of the benefits is that they are exempted from paying the Students Council fees throughout the time they are serving in the council,” he said.

This will encourage students to be active and to be involved in the council as a platform to seek experience and broaden their knowledge, while at the same time being the eyes and tongues of the other students, he said.
