Doa Selamat for gov’t Haj pilgrims

GOVERNMENT agencies yesterday hosted more _Doa Selamat _ceremonies and donation handovers for their officers and staff who will be performing the Haj pilgrimage this year.

At a meeting room of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Deputy Minister Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Wahab Juned presented donations to three intending pilgrims from the PMO following a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat.

In the second Doa Selamat ceremony held at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports’ (MCYS) building, Minister Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Hj Hazair Hj Abdullah presented donations to five intending pilgrims who are officers and staff of various departments under the ministry. Also present during the ceremony was MCYS Deputy Minister Datin Paduka Hjh Adina Othman and other senior ministry officials.

A similar event was held at the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) headquarters’ prayer hall in Gadong yesterday to seek Allah SWT’s blessings for the well-being of police personnel who will be leaving for the Haj pilgrimage.

RBPF Commissioner Dato Paduka Seri Bahrin Mohd Noor is among the pilgrims along with Lance Corporal Pg Asmanuddin Pg Hj Said at Sengkurong Police Station and Ruqayyah Abd Wahab, who works at the Logistics Department. The departure of the first batch of Haj pilgrims will start today.

The Brunei Times
