THE Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei will be organising a ‘Thai Halal Products Fair’ from September 4th to the 6th at Times Square Shopping Centre in Berakas.

The exhibition aims to promote awareness of Thai halal products among Bruneians as well as to seek an avenue for closer collaboration in the halal industry with the sultanate.

According to a press statement released yesterday by the Royal Thai Embassy, a mini seminar will also be organised at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) on September 7th.

The exhibition will bring together about 20 entrepreneurs from Thailand and feature various halal products ranging from food items to cosmetics and herbal treatment products.

The exhibitors have been selected by the Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University, Halal Standard Institute of Thailand, Central Islamic Council of Thailand, Department of Industrial Promotion and Islamic Bank of Thailand to showcase and sell their halal products.

The embassy also hopes Bruneians will enjoy the various quality halal products that will be featured, including chili paste, canned products, frozen foods and snacks.

Expected to grace the exhibition’s opening ceremony as the guest of honour is Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 2.30pm to 10pm on September 4th and from 10am to 10pm on September 5th and 6th. It will be held on the ground floor of the shopping centre.
